ABOUT

Probus is an association of retired or semi-retired people (men and women), who join together with the basic purpose of providing regular opportunity to keep their minds active, expand their interests and enjoy the company of new friends.

CLUB HISTORY

Our Probus Club was established on 14th May, 1987 by a small number of men and women, some of whom are still members of the Club.  For over 20 years  we met at the Illawarra Catholic Club, but the meeting room was no longer available after April 2009. The new meeting venue is at Kingsgrove RSL Club Brocklehurst Lane, Kingsgrove. At the present time we have approximately 90 members but this number is growing steadily. At the moment we still have vacancies for new members.

ACTIVITIES are as follows:

  1. Formal meeting each month which consists of Club business, a coffee break followed by a guest speaker.
  2. An outing once each month, usually on the third Monday of the Month, to different sights around Sydney, sometimes we travel by Coach and other times we meet at a designated spot and travel on public transport.
  3. Twice each year we have a five or six day tour to a holiday destination in New South Wales or other times we travel further into another State.  We travel by coach or by plane depending on the location.
